Basketball gave me a concrete goal: dunk. My estimated approach vertical moved from roughly 70 to 80 cm while my squat 1RM developed from about 40 to 65 kg.
Basketball led to jumping; jumping led to speed; injury led to better questions. This is the chronology behind the dataset.
Basketball gave me a concrete goal: dunk. My estimated approach vertical moved from roughly 70 to 80 cm while my squat 1RM developed from about 40 to 65 kg.
I kept building through squats, front squats, RFESS, step-ups, leg press, and hip thrusts. By junior year, my squat 1RM reached 130 kg and my estimated approach vertical was near 90 cm.
One to two high-intent sessions per week—depth jumps, pogos, bounds, hurdle hops, seated jumps, and kneeling jumps—changed how quickly I could express force. My estimated approach vertical approached 100 cm.
A 4.60 electronic 40-yard dash, second on the varsity basketball team, suggested that speed could become more than a test result.
I opened with a 12.30 official 100m, injured my PCL in May, then returned to full-speed work in July. Rehabilitation also exposed foot stability, hip mobility, and strength-balance variables I had not tracked.
An officially timed 11.45-second 100m became the clearest competition outcome so far. It is evidence of progress, while its relationship to training and recovery still needs repeated observation.
Sport made improvement feel like leveling up. Statistics made me ask whether the level would hold.
