I am Alex Liu, a student-athlete using my own training history to study how performance changes—and how confidently we can explain that change.
From basketball to the 100 meters
I started training seriously in freshman year through basketball. One concrete goal—learning to dunk—led me into strength training, plyometrics, sprinting, and a much deeper interest in athletic development.
Along the way, improvement stopped feeling like a simple before-and-after story. Timing methods, recovery, maturation, technique, and daily variation all shaped the numbers I recorded.

Why I built SplitLab
SplitLab is where I connect sport with statistics. I use it to document the work behind each result, separate official records from estimates, and ask whether an apparent breakthrough is repeatable—or simply noise.
